In the privacy of my own
The story of three strangers who reach an emotional cross-roads in their lives and escape into an imagined subconscious world. Reality is put on hold as they are hurled from one emotional crisis to another.
This piece was perhaps Mark's most abstract work. It was for three performers and focused on the human body as a vehicle for exploring the complexities of the human psyche. It examined the inner processes that determine how a human being reacts and behaves; the private dialogue between the mind, body and heart. How do memories, instincts, emotions, physical impulses and the influence of external opinions stored within each of us, converge to arrive at a single human action? How is the battle between impulse and rationality; emotion and reason resolved?
