Nightfall
Join The Special Guests at sunset to experience the day falling into night. This new time-specific performance by the Bristol-based company playfully examines the transitional worlds we inhabit at this twilight hour.
As the day draws to a close and the sun slips beneath the horizon, The Special Guests invite you to join them at sunset to experience the inevitable shift from day to night.
Diminishing light levels are measured by a lux meter. A pseudo goth tells us why light can be harmful, whilst a night-owl accompanies us into the small hours.
Nightfall uses the language of classroom physics and practical demonstrations in an attempt to describe who we are and what we become when night falls. Exploring humanity, transition and the shifting borders between science, philosophy and theatre, Nightfall playfully reminds us of the temporal and physical world around us.
How dark does it need to get before we turn the lights on? What are the fictions that keep us going when it seems that the light is dying? What do we miss while we’re asleep?
Join us as we throw open the doors to let the night come flooding in.
Please arrive promptly as the sun doesn’t wait for anyone.
