Bye Bye
Bye Bye - The New Primitive
Sex, politics, the body. Gekidan Kaitaisha, from Tokyo, present some of the most starkly beautiful, haunting images you are likely to see in a theatre. Pain, fear, war and a chilling tenderness are all mixed in this radical form of physical theatre from one of Japan's most experimental underground theatre groups. Famous since 1985 for their avant-garde work from the margins of Japanese theatre-making, Gekidan Kaitaishatake us into the 21st century in a large-scale performance that pushes the limits of political and artistic concepts tracing a path through Japan's war torn history to it's contemporary refugees and cities.
