Horse + Bamboo

 Horse + Bamboo Theatre make visual theatre in which music and story-telling is central. The company’s approach is practical and empirical rather than theoretical, and is usually non-verbal. It creates a complex and informed contemporary narrative theatre.

H+B tour throughout the UK and internationally. The productions vary - but the use of masks, puppetry, film, movement and through composed music are typical of our work. The company writes its own material and although most productions are aimed at family audiences, some are suited to an older age group.

Originally the tours were horse-drawn during the summer months but now they all travel by van. 

H+B also runs the Boo - a unique arts centre at the company's base in Waterfoot which puts on a regular programme of arts events for the community of Rossendale and East Lancashire.
