Company Background
black&blue, launched in 2003, are a multi-disciplinary theatre company dedicated to devising and telling stories through circus, physical and music theatre, blurring the lines between writer, performer, actor and artist to embrace the skills, apparent and undiscovered, of the collective. After premiering Blue Is My Colour at the Edinburgh Fringe 2004, black&blue entered a period of development in Manchester as an incubated company supported by PANDA and Arts Council England. Our new work Serenade was performed as work in progress at Contact Theatre in 2005, and later at the Green Room in 2006. We were also the mentored company with the Cheshire Rural Touring Network throughout 2006.
Where Are We Now?
Following on from the PANDA incubation and our performances ofSerenade at The Green Room, we are now being supported by PANDA’s new Showstarter initiative. This is aimed at helping the company make the transition from one off showcase events to small scale touring. We are currently inviting bookings for Serenade in Autumn 2007.
